Primary objective

Provide coordination and support to the Privacy Unit to assist in the delivery of privacy services to NTG client agencies.

Context statement The Privacy function within the Freedom of Information and Privacy unit provides high quality, standardised and centralised advice and support to NTG agencies in relation to privacy, in compliance with the Information Act 2002 (NT) and other relevant privacy laws.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Assist in the delivery of privacy by design, training and support services to client agencies to ensure compliance with the

Information Act 2002 (NT) and other statutory obligations.





- Provide general administrative and coordination support to staff within the Privacy unit.
- Coordinate meetings, training sessions and awareness activities, including assistance with preparing materials and arranging logistics.

1. Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, guidelines, procedures and reports to support the delivery of

privacy services to NTG client agencies.
1. Assist clients and agency staff with privacy queries.
2. Manage effective monitoring and reporting mechanisms to inform regular and ad-hoc reporting requirements.

Selection criteria

Essential

3. Ability to understand and apply basic privacy principles and information handling requirements, or the capacity to quickly

acquire this knowledge.
1. Experience in interpreting and applying legislation, and conducting research, or ability to quickly acquire same.

2. Demonstrated effectiveness in a highly sensitive, confidential, and complex environment with a high level of integrity, discretion

and confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and reporting skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid administrative, organisational and time management skills with the capacity to prioritise competing requirements, work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.

1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates the Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) values

of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice, accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.

Desirable

1. Experience in administrative roles, information handling or a regulatory environment.
2. Skills in privacy, information management or governance. Further information The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a Criminal History Check and/or a Police intelligence or integrity check

prior to selection being confirmed and may be required to repeat those checks periodically. A criminal history will not exclude an applicant from this position unless it is relevant to the position.
