Our client is a fast-growing food manufacturer with an exciting opportunity to build greater structure, capability and commercial discipline across its procurement function. As the business continues to grow, this is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of direct procurement, strengthen supplier relationships and help shape the future of the function.

The Role

Reporting into the broader business, this is a standalone role responsible for procurement across direct spend, with a strong focus on establishing processes, improving supplier management and delivering commercial value.

- Own procurement across key direct spend categories
- Develop procurement processes, systems and ways of working from the ground up
- Build and manage strong supplier relationships and commercial partnerships
- Support sourcing, tendering, negotiation and supplier selection activities
- Identify cost, supply and process improvement opportunities
- Improve visibility of spend, pricing and supplier performance
- Partner closely with Operations, Planning, Quality and Finance
- Support supplier reviews, contracts and ongoing commercial negotiations
- Establish greater procurement discipline across the business

Your Background





This role will suit a mid-level procurement professional who enjoys working autonomously and has the capability to build structure in a developing setting.
- Proven procurement experience across direct spend
- Experience within food, FMCG or manufacturing environments
- Protein, meat or agricultural category experience highly regarded
- Strong supplier management, negotiation and commercial skills
- Comfortable developing processes and systems in a low-maturity environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
- Hands-on, self-directed approach with strong stakeholder management skills
