About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Officer to join our team at Collie Power Station.

Collie Power Station is a 340 megawatt coalfired base load electricity generation facility located approximately 2 hours south of Perth WA.

As a Production officer you will assist the Senior Production Officer to monitor and operate all plant (including a steam turbine generator, boiler, rotating equipment, transformers, switch gear and relevant equipment) at Collie Power Station to ensure safe, reliable and productive operation of the plant.

This role is on a 12-month fixed term contract

- DIDO working a 5 panel rotating shift roster, initially commencing as day shift only & progressing to shift work through successful completion of the training program. This role would suit candidates who reside locally.

What You’ll Do

- Promote, drive and maintain a positive zero harm culture
- Operate and/or assist with the operation of all assigned plant
- Identify long term plant reliability issues
- Provide feedback on activities and plant condition to Supervisors / Coordinators
- Document all activities, readings taken, materials and time used to input information
- Liaise with personnel to prioritise, schedule and resource work activities
- Recommend improvements which assist safety, quality, productivity, cost effectiveness and improve overall plant operations
- Work with the Senior Production Officer to operate & monitor all plant at Collie Power Station to ensure safe, reliable & efficient operation of the plant, that unit load is dispatched as per client, Synergy, daily forecast. and as per electricity market operator requirements.
- Physical observation of the plant remote from the Control Room & assistance with plant optimisation to continually improve efficiency wherever possible
- Conduct plant walk downs & observations as required & report plant conditions to Senior Production Officer and follow up with the submission & prioritisation of defect notifications to commence the process of maintenance involvement
- Ensure that day to day operations are performed in a manner consistent with the company's environmental policies, standards & procedures
- Responsibility for preparation, isolation, issuing, cancellation & restoration of Permits to Work utilising the client's Permit to Work system and ensuring that safe working practices are followed at all stages




- Create & update operational documentation on a continuous basis (Daily Production Instruction, Task Sheets, Plant Notes, Isolation Procedures) and actively contribute during group shift handovers to ensure transfer of information between shifts
- Liaise with the Maintenance &
- Asset groups to provide assistance as requested to solve plant problems or issues
- Regularly carry out Workplace Inspections &
- Job Observations to contribute to continuous improvement
- Actively contribute to the maintenance of a safe & healthy workplace environment, in particular always behaving in a manner that reflects commitment to safety & the environment

What you’ll have

- High Risk Work Licence for Boiler &
- Turbine (BA or BI / TO)
- Construction Induction (white card)
- Cert III in ESI Generation is highly desired
- Cert IV Frontline Management is advantageous
- Experience in Electronic Permit to Work Systems is advantageous
