Role Description:
Reporting to Site Supervisor / Services Manager, you will be doing FIFO from Perth on Various WA Client Sites.
- Perform onsite inspection, testing, calibration, servicing and repair of pressure safety valves (PSVs), pressure relief valves (PRVs) and safety relief valves.
- Conduct as-found/as-received testing, verify and adjust set pressure, perform seat leakage testing and complete final testing in accordance with approved procedures and client requirements.
- Dismantle, clean and assess PSVs; inspect seats, discs, nozzles, springs, bellows, guides, stems and other components for wear, corrosion, erosion or damage.
- Lap/recondition seating surfaces where appropriate; replace seals, gaskets, O-rings and components; reassemble, adjust and retest valves.
- Identify components requiring machining, replacement or further technical assessment and report findings to the Supervisor / Services Manager.
- Inspect, assess, service and repair other industrial valves within demonstrated competency, including gate, globe, ball, butterfly, check, control, isolation and actuated valves.
- Undertake or assist with in-situ/on-line PSV testing and other in-situ valve testing using Profluid specialist equipment and approved procedures.
- Assist with in-situ control valve and valve diagnostic/testing activities where trained and authorised.
- Accurately record valve identification, as-found condition, repairs, components replaced, calibration data, leakage results and final test results.
- Complete inspection, calibration, repair and test reports accurately and promptly, maintaining valve and test-equipment traceability.
- Work to shutdown, commissioning and maintenance schedules and meet daily targets without compromising safety, quality or technical integrity.
- Participate in site mobilisation, pre-starts, toolbox meetings, permits, isolations and client site safety requirements.
- Liaise with Profluid Supervisors and client representatives regarding work progress, technical findings and repair recommendations.
- Maintain test equipment, tooling and work areas in a safe and serviceable condition and immediately report defects or non-conformances.
- Assist other Profluid technicians and site personnel as required and work effectively within teams of mixed levels of experience.
- Undertake FIFO work throughout Western Australia on a 14 days on / 7 days off roster,
typically 11-12 hour shifts.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential
- Demonstrated hands-on experience servicing, repairing, setting and testing PSVs / PRVs / safety relief valves.
- Practical mechanical fitting and valve repair capability.
- Experience using pressure testing and calibration equipment.
- Ability to dismantle, inspect, assess, repair, reassemble and test valves safely and accurately.
- Ability to identify valve defects and determine or escalate appropriate repair requirements.
- Ability to read valve nameplates, drawings, datasheets and technical documentation.
- Ability to accurately complete inspection, repair, calibration and test documentation.
- Strong understanding of secure pressure-testing practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a FIFO site team.
- Ability to work 11-12 hour shifts on a 14/7 FIFO roster.
Desirable
- Mechanical trade qualification / Mechanical Fitter qualification.
- Mining, oil & gas, LNG, refinery, chemical or process plant experience.
- Shutdown and commissioning experience.
- Experience with API 576 / API 527 PSV inspection and testing practices.
- Experience with pilot-operated PSVs, control valves and actuators.
- Experience with in-situ/on-line PSV or valve testing equipment.
- Experience working within a NATA / ISO/IEC 17025 environment.
- Current Working at Heights, Confined Space Entry and Gas Test Atmospheres competencies.
- Relevant High Risk Work Licence and current Australian driver's licence.
