Job Summary
Our team of Paraplanners are responsible for the creation of high-quality advice documents and product research for our team of employed and licenced advisers. The client experience is at the centre of everything we do. We place a high priority on the accuracy and technical expertise of our teams, and we value the way this positively impacts a client's journey with us.
In this key role, production of Statements of Advice (SOAs) will not be your main responsibility, instead you will be accountable for quality assurance of submissions into paraplanning and quality assurance of completed SOAs for our licenced adviser network.
This position is ideal for an experienced paraplanner who enjoys analysing strategies, advice quality assurance, and thinking critically but commercially for positive outcomes within our licenced adviser network.
Key Responsibilities
- Advice Quality & Pre-SOA Review: Conduct thorough pre-SOA reviews and support advisers with education and tools to close gaps/deficiencies prior to document generation.
- SOA Review & Quality Assurance: Review completed SOAs produced by the paraplanning team to ensure these are completed to a high level of quality.
- Technical Support & Education: Provide ongoing technical support across the adviser network, including preparing and presenting technical webinars and training sessions.
- Remove Roadblocks for Advisers:
Work to support the Practice Development Manager to drive advice quality and efficiency for both Akambo and the adviser.
- Wealthsolver/Projection Support: Support advisers with Wealthsolver scenarios and Strategy Papers where required.
- Capacity Overflow (Ad-hoc): Occasionally assist with writing an SOA and supporting the Licensing Team with overflow (though document writing/licensing support is not a core responsibility of this role).
To Be Successful in This Role You Will Require:
- Comprehensive understanding of holistic financial advice, including superannuation, retirement planning, insurance, SMSF, tax strategies, product replacement, gearing, social security, and wealth creation. Experience with SMA/MDA portfolios is ideal.
- Solid background as a Paraplanner, Advice Quality Reviewer, Technical Specialist, or Remediation Officer looking to work in a QA and coaching position.
- Proven ability to provide support and build relationships with advisers. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport in a collaborative environment.
- A proactive attitude to identifying advice inefficiencies, coaching advisers, and maintaining high standards for the quality produced by our paraplanning team.
- High attention to detail & accuracy – you are the last individual before SOAs are released to our advisers.
- Prior experience with Xplan, Wealthsolver, XTOOLS+ CALM Modelling, Risk Researcher is welcome, but not essential.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
