About the role

Lachlan Fleming Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a Qualified Carpenter and 4th year Carpentry Apprentice to join our growing team based in Woodend, Victoria. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work on diverse carpentry and construction projects in a collaborative and professional environment. Whether you are a fully qualified tradesperson or nearing completion of your apprenticeship, this role will provide you with the chance to develop your skills, contribute to high-quality construction work, and progress your career in the carpentry and cabinet-making industry.

What you'll be doing

- Execute carpentry tasks on residential and commercial construction projects with precision and attention to detail

- Interpret building plans, specifications and technical drawings to guide project execution

- Measure, cut, shape and fit timber and other materials according to project requirements

- Install frameworks, flooring, roofing, wall and door systems to specification

- Perform finishing work including sanding, staining and protective treatments on timber surfaces

- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition and participate in regular tool maintenance

- Adhere to workplace health and safety standards, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment

- Collaborate effectively with other trades and construction team members on site

- Support site supervisors and project managers to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget

- For apprentices: continue development of practical carpentry skills under supervision of experienced tradespeople

What we're looking for

- Current carpentry trade qualification or demonstrated completion of 2rd year apprenticeship (3rd and 4th year apprentices welcome to apply)

- Strong understanding of building codes, standards and safe work practices within the carpentry trade

- Proven ability to read and interpret building plans, technical drawings and specifications

- Competency in the use of hand and power tools relevant to carpentry work





- Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

- Reliable work ethic with strong time management and organisational abilities

- Current or willingness to obtain a White Card (general construction induction card) or equivalent

- Current driving licence (desirable for site-based work)

- Previous experience in residential or commercial carpentry projects is highly valued

- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the trade
