THE OPPORTUNITY

Our Technical Designer/Garment Technician works with our designers and is responsible for ensuring all garment and fabrications for womenswear meet RB Sellars standards.

The role is based at our North Geelong Federal Mills Office, in our custom-designed creative space. You will work with a number of highly experienced industry professionals, so if you are keen to work with and learn from the best, this is the role for you. The role is now open as our wonderful colleague has had to relocate overseas unexpectedly for family reasons.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Working closely with the designers the successful applicant will;

- develop and complete all technical aspects of product tech packs and specifications

- assess & measure all incoming fit & PP supplier samples

- lead fit sessions

- communicate changes, approvals on samples & spec with instructions for next submissions

- establish and maintain block fits for key products

- ensure the ensure critical path time-lines are met and any roadblocks identified and resolved.

- complete reviews and testing of fabrics,



components, patterns and measurements ensuring all products are fit for purpose and meet the RB Sellars quality standards

- liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve fabric and style queries, and ensure the accuracy or care labels and information.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You bring:

- Min 3+ years’ experience as a garment development (technologist) and/or pattern making - qualifications preferred

- Sound knowledge of garment construction process, fabric types and relevant construction techniques

- Sound MS Excel

- Familiarity with AS/NZ, Arpansa and quality assurance & standards

- A proven track record of working with suppliers at source
