About the role

Riverstone Partners is a specialist real estate services group operating in the property finance and settlement space. This is an on-site role combining hands-on loan recovery skills with genuine regulatory compliance capability, including AML/CTF. Part of your week will be spent managing a portfolio of impaired and aged accounts through to resolution, and part will be spent supporting the compliance framework, including obligations as an AML/CTF reporting entity. You'll work closely with the Chief Legal Officer's office and Responsible Manager, moving between operational recovery work and compliance analysis. Prior exposure to real estate, conveyancing, property finance or mortgage lending will help you understand the commercial context behind the files you're managing.

Key responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of back-end, aged and impaired loan accounts, determining the right recovery strategy including further engagement, default action, litigation or asset/debt sale

- Prepare and issue default and recovery notices in the correct legislative sequence, and undertake skip tracing to secure payment arrangements

- Assess accounts for litigation referral, liaising with external legal counsel on enforcement, possession and caveat matters

- Liaise with receivers, liquidators, administrators, solicitors, real estate agents and other third parties on recovery matters

- Assess and respond to hardship applications, and manage AFCA and external dispute resolution matters relating to recovery files

- Support the group's AML/CTF program: conduct customer due diligence and KYC/KYB checks, identify and escalate suspicious matters, and help maintain AML/CTF policies and registers

- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, legislation and internal policies across assigned business areas

- Conduct compliance reviews and identify potential risks and areas for improvement across recovery and compliance functions

- Liaise with external regulatory bodies and assist in responding to regulatory inquiries and requests for information

- Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of recovery processes, compliance activities and regulatory correspondence across case management and compliance systems

About you

- Demonstrated AML/CTF compliance experience e.g. customer due diligence, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring or suspicious matter reporting gained in financial services, real estate, legal or a comparable regulated environment

- Experience within real estate, property services, conveyancing, mortgage or asset finance -you understand how settlements, vendor finance or lending transactions work in practice

- Genuinely tech-savvy: confident learning and working across multiple systems day-to-day -case management/CRM platforms, e-signature tools, compliance registers and Microsoft 365 -without needing lengthy onboarding

- Experience in credit, recovery, collections or debt management, ideally including default notices, hardship assessment and litigation referral

- Working knowledge of Australian financial services regulation relevant to consumer credit and AML/CTF (e.g. National Credit Code, AML/CTF Act)

- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify compliance risks and implement practical solutions

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain compliance matters clearly to non-specialist stakeholders

- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced setting
