St George District Rugby League Football Club and the St George Illawarra Dragons are seeking a Female Pathways Coaching Lead and Tarsha Gale Cup Head Coach.

This is a full-time coaching leadership role responsible for the development of the St George District female pathway, from Development Squads through to Junior Representative programs.

The successful candidate will also be the Tarsha Gale Cup Head Coach, leading the team, coaching staff and player development program.

Following the Junior Representative season, the role will move into the Dragons' female high-performance programs as an Assistant Coach of the NSW Women’s Premiership team and Transition Coach for the St George Illawarra Dragons.

About the Role

The role will report to the Football Manager, St George DRLFC, while working closely with the Director – Female Football, St George Illawarra Dragons.

The position will provide a strong link between the St George junior female pathway and the Dragons' senior female programs, helping create a transparent and consistent pathway for players and coaches.

Key Responsibilities

1. St George District Female Pathway Leadership

- Lead the St George female pathway from Development Squads through to Junior Representative programs.

- Create a consistent coaching and player development approach across the pathway.

- Support and mentor pathway coaches.

- Set clear standards and expectations for players and coaches.

- Monitor player and coaching development.

- Identify opportunities to improve the pathway.

- Help plan and review pathway programs.

2. St George District Tarsha Gale Cup – Head Coach

- Lead the Tarsha Gale Cup program.

- Plan and deliver training and competition programs.

- Create a positive and high-performance environment.

- Lead and support the coaching staff.

- Provide players with clear feedback and development plans.

- Work closely with performance, medical and welfare staff.

3. Talent Identification & Recruitment

- Assist in identifying and developing emerging talent throughout the district.





- Support player recruitment and retention strategies.

- Maintain relationships with local clubs, schools and community stakeholders.

- Contribute to talent identification and succession planning initiatives.

4. Post-Junior Representative Season

Following the Junior Representative season, the role will transition into the Dragons' female high-performance environment as:

- St George Illawarra Dragons Women’s Premiership Assistant Coach

- St George Illawarra Dragons Transition Coach

NSW Women’s Premiership Assistant Coach

- Support the Head Coach with training and game preparation.

- Assist with the team’s game plan and coaching approach.

- Coach technical, tactical and individual development areas.

- Provide players with clear feedback.

- Assist with opposition analysis and game review.

- Monitor player performance and development.

- Identify players with potential to progress into the NRLW program.

Transition Coach

- Support players moving between the NRLW and NSW Women’s Premiership.

- Work with coaches on individual player development plans.

- Monitor player development and readiness.

- Provide additional coaching and development support.

- Support players returning from injury alongside medical and performance staff.

- Maintain strong communication between the NRLW and NSW Women’s Premiership programs.

- Support the development of emerging female players.

- Provide feedback to Dragon’s coaching, pathways and recruitment staff.

- Support St George-developed players as they progress into the Dragons system.

The Opportunity

This role provides a full-time coaching resource across the St George and Dragons female programs,



creating a clear pathway for players from junior development through to the NSW Women’s Premiership and NRLW.

Essential Requirements

- Experience coaching in junior representative, pathway or senior rugby league programs.

- Strong understanding of player development and pathways.

- Good leadership and people management skills.

- Ability to support and develop other coaches.

- Strong communication skills.

- Current NRL Coaching Accreditation, or ability to obtain.

- Current Working With Children Check.

- Current Driver’s Licence.

- Current First Aid and CPR.

- Full Australian working rights.

Desirable

- Experience coaching in Women’s Premiership, Tarsha Gale, Lisa Fioloa or other Female Representative Teams.

- Experience working within a club pathway.

- Understanding of modern coaching and player development.

- Strong connections within rugby league.
