Latitude Recruitment has partnered with Swan Hill District Health to find Registered Midwives ready for their next move. If you love midwifery and the trust that comes with walking alongside women and their families, this is a chance to do the work that matters, in a supportive team in one of the friendliest pockets of the Murray.

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you'll provide woman-centred care before, during and after pregnancy, supporting the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of women and their families. You'll conduct low-risk births on your own responsibility, work in collaboration with GP obstetricians, and be a trusted part of a close-knit unit. From time to time you'll also lend your nursing skills across other departments, so no two weeks look quite the same.

What you'll need

- AHPRA registration as a Registered Midwife (dual Nurse/Midwife registration is ideal)
- Sound midwifery and nursing skills, with robust organisational and problem-solving ability
- Confidence providing fundamental care to women in labour: admission and history taking, CTG observation and interpretation, acting as second midwife at a birth, neonatal resuscitation,



and midwifery care during a caesarean
- Experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Respect for the cultural diversity of childbearing women
- Well-developed verbal, written and electronic communication skills
- A commitment to ongoing education, CPD and practice in line with NMBA and Australian College of Midwives standards

Membership of a midwifery professional body and IV cannulation skills (or a willingness to work towards them) are desirable.
