We are currently seeking experienced Instrument Technicians for a contract/temp opportunity commencing 14 September 2026.
Offering $90 per hour, this role is suited to experienced Instrument Technicians with a strong background in loop checking, calibration, commissioning and fault finding who are confident working across a range of industrial instrumentation.
We’re looking for technicians who can hit the ground running and are comfortable reading technical drawings, configuring field devices and testing instrumentation through to commissioning.

The Role
As an Instrument Technician, you will be involved in the testing, configuration, calibration and commissioning of instrumentation and associated equipment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Completing instrument loop checks
- Working with 4–20mA analogue instrumentation
- Using HART communicators for device configuration and diagnostics
- Setting and verifying device configuration parameters
- Testing and troubleshooting field instrumentation
- Reading and interpreting schematic and termination drawings
- Working with motor-specific instrumentation, including thermistors and vibration monitoring
- Working with valves, including setting and testing limit switches
- Installing, setting up and calibrating level transmitters
- Working with VEGA ultrasonic instrumentation
- Setting up and commissioning magflow meters
- Working with process analysers where required
- Identifying and rectifying instrumentation faults
- Completing testing and commissioning documentation
- Working closely with electrical, commissioning and project teams
- Ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements
What We’re Looking For
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Relevant Instrumentation trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience as an Instrument Technician
- Strong experience completing loop checks
- Sound knowledge of 4–20mA analogue instrumentation
- Experience using HART communicators
- Ability to configure and adjust field instrument parameters
- Experience with instrumentation associated with motors, including thermistors and vibration monitoring
- Ability to confidently interpret schematics and termination drawings
- Experience setting and testing valve limit switches
- Experience installing and calibrating level instrumentation
- Familiarity with VEGA ultrasonics
- Experience with magflow meter setup and commissioning
- Familiarity with process analysers will be highly regarded
- Solid fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
- Full Australian working rights
- Availability to commence 14 September 2026
About You
You’re a technically capable Instrument Technician who is comfortable working beyond routine maintenance.
You understand the commissioning process, can confidently work through loop checks and instrument configuration, and know how to identify and resolve issues efficiently. You’re comfortable working from drawings and can communicate effectively with electrical, commissioning and project personnel to get equipment tested and ready for operation.
