Fuse Recruitment are seeking experienced Boiler Makers and Welders to support the installation and commissioning of automated conveyor and materials handling systems for a major refrigerated distribution centre project in Western Sydney.
The role involves Fabrication, welding and installation of structural steel and metalwork assembling, installing, aligning, and maintaining conveyor systems and associated mechanical equipment within a large-scale industrial and cold-chain logistics facility.
Candidates with experience in automation, conveyer installation, warehousing, FMCG, logistics, or industrial construction projects are highly regarded. Having your Rigger / Dogman tickets as well is highly advantageous.
These are permanent roles with our client with the contracts ranging for 6 - 9 months and possibility of further extension.

Specialises in factory automation, robotics, electrical services, materials handling, process systems, and workshop manufacturing. Supports industries including mining, manufacturing, food processing, packaging, and construction with end-to-end project delivery, from concept and engineering through to commissioning and ongoing technical support.

The Role:
In this role you will Fabricate and Weld structural steel and metal work as well as help install and assemble conveyor systems, motors, rollers, drives, guards, and automated materials handling equipment. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and layouts, perform alignment and fitting work,
and assist with commissioning and testing all whilst using hand and power tools safely. You will work closely with electricians, Fitters, riggers, crane crews, and supervisors to complete industrial projects. All whilst maintaining high safety, quality, and housekeeping standards, ensuring all work complies with WHS and site procedures.
Boiler Maker / Welder:
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabrication, welding and installation of structural steel and metalwork
- MIG/TIG welding as required
- Reading and interpreting workshop and construction drawings
- Measuring, cutting and fitting steel components
- Installation and modification of steelwork on site
- Working safely around other trades and construction activities
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship and site safety
You will also assist Mechanical Fitters in the below areas:
- Install and assemble conveyor systems, rollers, drives, motors, guards, and mechanical components
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, and installation plans
- Perform alignment, levelling, and mechanical fitting activities
- Assist with installation of automated materials handling equipment and refrigeration-related mechanical systems
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Work collaboratively with electricians, riggers, crane crews, and site supervisors
- Ensure all works comply with WHS requirements, SWMS, and site safety procedures
- Participate in commissioning and testing activities
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and housekeeping standards
- General site assistance where required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area
Experience required:
To be successful in obtaining these roles you will have:
- Relevant Trade qualifications
- Rigger / Dogman tickets
- Silica Awareness certificate
- Face fit Certification
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Working at Heights ticket highly regarded
- EWP, Forklift, or Scissor Lift tickets advantageous
- Confined Space ticket advantageous
- Proven commercial construction or industrial experience
- Strong welding and fabrication skills
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Valuable attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong commitment to WHS
- Construction industry experience, preferably on large-scale projects
- Current driver’s licence and reliable transport
- Experience installing conveyor systems or automated materials handling equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings
- Experience on industrial, logistics, warehouse, or FMCG construction projects preferred
