About the Position:

The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) is a new position, created to provide dedicated expertise and leadership toward embracing the rapid introduction of emerging technologies and educational transformation. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education) provides senior academic leadership for learning and teaching at ACU. The role will be responsible for delivering educational excellence in alignment with the university's Vision 2033 and the Education and Student Success Plan.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), the role leads the strategic transformation of ACU's education endeavours and the work of the Centre for Education and Innovation (CEI), including academic quality assurance,



curriculum design and innovation, pedagogy, assessment and generative AI reform, educational technology ecosystems, professional learning, learner success and employability across the university. The role has oversight of the governance and performance outcomes for asynchronous learning and ACU Online.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor fosters solid partnerships with Faculty Associate Deans of Learning and Teaching, and with ACU's wider community and industry partners, connecting across portfolios and directorates, including Catholic Mission, First Peoples, Student Experience, Student Administration and Corporate Services. It also assists with the development of institutional frameworks, governance, policy and capability uplift. This work strengthens educational quality, academic integrity, innovation and continuous improvement, and ensures ACU is well positioned to respond to emerging sector trends, regulatory expectations and changing student needs.

The Successful Candidate:

The successful candidate will bring:

- A doctoral qualification, with a record of recognised scholarship, teaching excellence, and/or educational leadership appropriate to appointment at senior academic level
- Proven experience leading institution-wide initiatives relating to curriculum innovation, academic quality,



assessment reform, educational technology, student success and educational transformation
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale educational change across complex organisations, working effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Experience leading and managing high-performing multidisciplinary teams, including organisational redesign and workforce capability development
- A track record of building effective strategic partnerships with faculties, professional services, external stakeholders and industry partners
- Outstanding interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
- Experience managing significant budgets, resources and teams to deliver strategic priorities.
