Aboriginal Hostels Limited (AHL) is looking for a reliable and motivated Housekeeper, Night Attendant, Cook and Weekend Cook to join our team and help create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment at our facilities and hostels.

HOUSEKEEPER

What we are looking for:

- A passion for maintaining a high level of housekeeping.
- If you don’t have experience – then a willingness to learn!
- The health and fitness to participate in an active role.
- The ability to follow procedures and work independently.
- A positive attitude and a friendly disposition.
- Candidates must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Ability to get and maintain police check and a Working with Children Check.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure all areas at our hostel are clean, safe, and hygienic for residents and staff.
- Clean and maintain resident rooms and communal areas such as kitchens and bathrooms
- Complete laundry tasks
- Handle cleaning supplies and equipment carefully and follow safety guidelines.
- Assist with other general maintenance tasks as needed.

NIGHT ATTENDANT

What we are looking for:

- Candidates who have some experience in the position or related work.
- People with a passion for supporting First Nations young people living away from home.
- The ability to follow procedures and work independently.




- A positive attitude and a friendly disposition.
- Candidates must have Australian citizenship
- Ability to get and maintain police check and a Working with Children Check.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain the safety of students and the security of the premises.
- Provide overnight student supervision.
- Respond to emergencies.
- Report activity and irregularities, including student behaviour, damage to property or maintenance issues, presence of unauthorised persons or other unusual occurrences.

COOK

What we are looking for:

- Prepare meals in accordance with AHL’s set menus, Food Safety Standards Australia and other relevant legislation
- Stocktake management rotate, receive and monitor food and kitchen supplies
- Ensure the kitchen is cleaned to a standard as well as the dining areas.

Key Responsibilities:

- Experience in meal preparation in an industry-based environment, ensuring the safe production of quality food without compromise to Food Safety Standards Australia.
- Experience in commercial cookery, with an ability to manage stock rotation while ensuring timely service and hygiene of cooking equipment.
- Good understanding of cleanliness and health standards required whilst preparing food at the workstation.

- Be an Australian Citizen




- Undergo a Satisfactory National Criminal History Check (prior to engagement)
- Meet Fitness for Duty requirements (prior to engagement)
- Hold or obtain relevant qualifications
- Maintain or hold a Working With children’s card in Northern Territory (NT)

- Competitive Pay & Perks: $62,775 - $68,425 per annum (pro-rated for part-time) with 15.4% superannuation, and generous leave entitlements.
