Position Purpose
The Ladder Sales & Inspection Technician is responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and reporting on ladders and access equipment. The role also involves assisting customers, preparing quotations, conducting on-site inspections, and supporting various areas of the business including warehousing, sales and showroom operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Provide professional advice regarding ladder servicing and compliance requirements.
- Assist customers with repair, maintenance, and accessory enquiries.
- Prepare repair estimates and quotations using company systems.
Service & Repairs
- Inspect, service, and repair ladders, platforms, and access equipment.
- Diagnose faults and recommend repair solutions.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship and compliance standards.
- Operate power tools safely and effectively.
Inspections & Reporting
- Conduct ladder and access equipment inspections at customer sites.
- Complete inspection reports and compliance documentation.
- Perform measurements and prepare quotations for repair or replacement work.
- Travel (occasionally overnight) within Victoria and interstate to conduct inspections and audits.
Workshop & Operational Support
- Assist with warehouse and stock management activities.
- Support showroom operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop setting.
- Work collaboratively with team members across all areas of the business.
Sales & Business Development
- Assist customers in selecting suitable ladders, platforms, and access solutions.
- Identify opportunities to upsell accessories, repairs, inspections, and replacement equipment.
- Prepare quotations and follow up on sales opportunities.
- Support showroom sales and customer enquiries.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Contribute to the growth of the inspection and repair division.
- Assist with on-site measuring, quoting, and recommending solutions for customer requirements.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with a range of hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills for quotations and reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
