About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and processes of the National Jet Express Logistics Department. This role plays a key part in ensuring that procurement and purchasing activities are conducted efficiently and cost-effectively.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Head of Logistics in their absence.
- Coordinate time-critical logistics and purchasing tasks to help reduce aircraft downtime.
- Support Aircraft on Ground (AOG) logistics tasks when required.
- Work closely with Finance to resolve invoice issues quickly.
- Monitor critical stock levels and suggest adjustments to minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Lead regular planning meetings with maintenance and logistics teams to ensure spare parts are available when needed.
- Ensure all aircraft parts come with the correct certification from approved suppliers.
- Review stock usage trends and recommend changes to improve efficiency.
- Handle goods received issues, including damaged or incorrect items.
- Regularly follow up on outstanding orders and update expected delivery dates.
- Report any major delivery delays to the Head of Logistics.
- Provide guidance and support to a team of Logistics Officers.
- Promote a strong safety culture by actively supporting safety initiatives and working towards a Zero Harm environment.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Extensive experience in logistics, supply chain, and procurement, ideally within an aviation environment.
- Strong understanding of aviation-specific logistics requirements.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities under pressure while delivering results.
- Excellent organisation, time management, and self-motivation skills.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated experience leading a agile team and managing key stakeholder relationships.
- Proficient in Excel and skilled in data analysis, reporting, and presenting findings.
