Due to continued growth, we are seeking motivated and reliable Production Workers to join our Mill Room team at our Wacol manufacturing facility.
About the Role
As a Mill Room Operator, you will play an important role in the manufacture of premium paint and coating products. Working within a safety-focused production environment, you will be responsible for milling, batching, mixing and processing raw materials to produce high-quality products that meet production and quality standards.
Working Hours
Our standard roster is:
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am to 4:00pm
- 38 ordinary hours per week
While the role is primarily a day shift position, successful candidates must be flexible to work afternoon shift hours of 1:00pm to 11:00pm when required to support operational and production demands.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate milling and manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Mix paints, coatings and related products in accordance with approved formulations and production schedules.
- Handle and work safely with solvents, chemicals and dangerous goods in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Accurately weigh and prepare raw materials for production batches.
- Follow recipes, formulations and batch instructions precisely to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct quality checks and complete production documentation.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards within the production area.
- Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials and finished goods.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production targets and customer delivery requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to attendance.
- Follow instructions and directions accurately while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
- Perform manual handling tasks safely, including regular lifting of items up to 25kg.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous milling experience within a paint, coating, chemical or similar batch manufacturing environment (essential).
- Current Forklift Licence (essential)
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Reliable work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Physical fitness and capability to undertake manual handling tasks
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
Desirable
- Experience in paint, coatings, ink, resin or chemical manufacturing.
- Experience operating mills, dispersers or similar processing equipment.
- Experience handling dangerous goods and hazardous chemicals.
- Knowledge of quality control and batch manufacturing processes.
