Are you a reliable, compassionate and customer-focused driver who enjoys helping others? We're looking for a Community Transport Driver to provide safe, comfortable and supportive transport services to members of our community. Based on the role profile for Community Transport Driver, the position focuses on ensuring clients can access medical appointments, shopping, social activities and other essential services safely and with dignity.
About the Role
As a Community Transport Driver, you will play an important role in supporting people to remain connected to their community and maintain their independence. You will provide safe transport services while delivering excellent customer care and ensuring the wellbeing, comfort and safety of clients throughout their journey.
- Employment Type: Permanent Part time
- Hours: 20 hours per week
- Roster: Monday to Friday as required
- Working Hours: Between 8:00am and 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, social outings and other approved destinations.
- Provide assistance to clients with mobility needs when entering and exiting vehicles.
- Maintain a strong focus on client safety, comfort, dignity and confidentiality.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and maintain vehicle cleanliness and presentation.
- Accurately record trip and passenger information using transport systems and documentation.
- Collect client contributions and complete related paperwork when required.
- Participate in training, meetings and continuous improvement activities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- A genuine commitment to supporting older people,
people with disability, carers and other community members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to remain calm and professional when supporting people who may be distressed or vulnerable.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
- A proven history of reliability, punctuality and professionalism.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with older people, people with disability, carers or children.
- Knowledge of the local area and surrounding communities.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
Mandatory Requirements
Successful applicants will require:
- Current unrestricted Driver Licence.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- National Criminal History Check.
- Clearance to work in aged care.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
