Adelaide Event Industries Pty Ltd is seeking a casual Event Hire Labourer to join our dynamic team in Adelaide SA 5000. This is a hands-on position that plays a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of events across South Australia. As an Event Hire Labourer, you will be responsible for the physical setup, breakdown, and maintenance of event equipment and infrastructure. This casual role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse events throughout the year, making it ideal for those seeking varied work experience in the events industry.
Key responsibilities
- Loading, unloading, and transporting event equipment and materials to and from venues
- Setting up event infrastructure including staging, seating, marquees, lighting and sound equipment under supervision
- Assisting with the breakdown and safe storage of equipment following events
- Ensuring event sites are clean, protected and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Responding promptly to requests from event coordinators and supervisors during setup and event operations
- Inspecting equipment for damage or defects and reporting issues to management
- Following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Working collaboratively with other team members to meet tight deadlines
What we're looking for
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry heavy items regularly
- A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with punctuality essential for a casual role
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in accordance with site-specific procedures
- Team player attitude with willingness to assist colleagues
- Basic communication skills and ability to take direction from supervisors
- Previous experience in event setup, labouring, or similar manual work is advantageous but not essential
