About the Role
Amey Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to join our growing Riverina team based in Wagga Wagga.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of land development, infrastructure, transport, renewable energy, and community projects throughout the region. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality surveying services while mentoring junior team members and contributing to project success from planning through to completion.
Working closely with the General Manager and Principal Registered Surveyor, you'll enjoy a varied role that combines technical expertise, field operations, project coordination, and client engagement.
As a Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of surveying services and supporting the successful execution of projects that exceed client expectations for quality, professionalism, and efficiency.
You will work across cadastral, engineering, and control surveys while supporting project planning, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake and oversee cadastral, engineering, and control surveys
- Perform survey fieldwork using modern surveying technologies
- Provide technical advice and recommendations based on survey outcomes
- Prepare and review survey plans, reports, and supporting documentation
- Utilise CAD software for survey calculations and drafting
- Finalise survey plans and coordinate certification through the Registered Surveyor
- Supervise and mentor Survey Technicians
- Maintain and manage survey equipment, vehicles, and instrument calibrations
- Ensure project delivery meets client expectations, budgets, and timeframes
- Liaise with clients, councils, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Support project coordination and assist with operational activities across the survey team
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying or a related discipline
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a surveying role
- Strong knowledge of cadastral, engineering, and control surveying practices
- Understanding of the Surveying and Spatial Information Act and associated regulations
- Experience using CAD packages, preferably Topcon Office and AutoCAD
- Experience operating Total Stations, GNSS equipment, drones, and 3D scanning technologies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Relevant industry memberships
- Experience supervising or mentoring survey staff
- Knowledge of development, planning, and subdivision processes
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
