About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Capabilities Business Manager, the Business Management Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting the successful delivery of Nuclear and Capability Development (NCD) objectives through governance, reporting, business analysis and continuous improvement activities. Partnering closely with leaders and stakeholders, you will provide critical insights and business management support that enable informed decision-making, drive performance and ensure alignment with organisational frameworks and priorities. This is an exciting opportunity to influence complex capability programs while contributing to the ongoing growth and capability uplift of the Business Management team.
This is a full-time position, which can be based in either Adelaide, SA or Perth, WA.
Responsibilities
- Drive departmental governance, reporting and performance management activities, providing leaders with explicit visibility of key priorities, risks, issues and outcomes to support informed decision-making.
- Develop and maintain high-quality dashboards, performance metrics and reporting artefacts that monitor business performance and enable effective governance oversight.
- Partner closely with leadership teams to deliver business planning,
governance coordination and operational support that drives business performance and strategic objectives.
- Coordinate governance forums and reviews, ensuring actions, risks, decisions and key deliverables are effectively tracked, communicated and progressed to completion.
- Support estimating, resource planning and broader PMO activities, contributing to the successful delivery of departmental priorities and organisational objectives.
- Contribute to workforce, program and financial management activities, ensuring accurate reporting, effective resource utilisation and compliance with governance requirements.
- Lead business management process improvements, driving standardisation, efficiency and continuous improvement across the business.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications, professional certification, or equivalent experience in Business, Project Management, Commerce, Governance, or a related discipline is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in business management, PMO, governance or project support within complex environments.
- Strong knowledge of governance, business reporting, estimating and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, relationship-building and communication skills.
- Experience supporting contractual deliverables within Defence, Government or other highly regulated/complex industries.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
