About the role
We are seeking a casual/part-time team member to manage our day-to-day financial operations and support the business through accurate reporting, compliance, and administration. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is detail-oriented, reliable, and comfortable working across the full bookkeeping cycle as well as broader business administration. It offers a high degree of autonomy and would suit an experienced accountant or bookkeeper who is seeking flexibility in their working arrangements.
The role currently requires 20-25 hours per week however this may increase with growth in the overall business. The duties will include but not be limited to:
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Process payroll accurately and on time
- Perform bookkeeping/accounting duties through to trial balance, including month-end reporting
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS)
and Payroll Tax returns
- Maintain corporate records, including customer and supplier contracts
- Report and analyse financial and business performance for the Directors
- Provide general corporate and business administration support to help keep operations running smoothly
About You
Along with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, you will have:
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role, ideally to trial balance level
- Sound knowledge of BAS and Payroll Tax obligations and lodgement processes
- Experience processing payroll (including relevant compliance requirements)
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using accounting software (MYOB or similar)
- Robust attention to detail, curiosity and a pro-active approach to implementing effective internal controls
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to Directors/non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, adaptable approach — comfortable pitching in on general business administration as needed
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping would be highly regarded.
