We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team in a full-time, permanent position based in Fortitude Valley. In this hands-on role, you will oversee domestic and international accounts payable activities, manage complex vendor and payment matters, and contribute to continuous improvement across systems, processes and financial controls.
Key duties:
- Drive operational outcomes across TEQ’s domestic and international accounts payable activities, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment runs and supplier payments.
- Review and resolve complex or higher-risk vendor, invoice and payment matters, including reconciliations, aged creditor items and foreign currency payments.
- Provide technical guidance and advice to employees on invoice processing, purchase order matching, payment documentation, delegations, GST and approval requirements.
- Manage escalated enquiries from internal stakeholders, suppliers, banks and auditors regarding invoices, payments, remittances and vendor onboarding.
- Prepare accounts payable reporting and analysis to support cashflow forecasting, procurement planning and the monitoring of payment cycle times, errors and internal controls.
- Identify and implement system improvements across the invoice to payment cycle including workflows, vendor maintenance, exception reporting and payment controls.

For this role, we will consider your:
- Demonstrated experience managing accounts payable activities,
including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, payment runs and reconciliations.
- Robust knowledge of financial controls, delegations, taxation requirements and compliance within a transaction processing environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems, with the ability to analyse data, identify exceptions and support process improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide guidance on complex accounts payable matters.
- Proven ability to prioritise competing deadlines, manage escalations and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, with experience in enterprise finance systems highly regarded.
- CPA, CIPS or progress towards professional accreditation will be highly regarded.
