About the role

This is a hands-on role working across a wide-ranging fleet of prime movers and heavy trailers, with a strong focus on preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs and keeping our fleet protected and operational. Working alongside our experienced workshop team, you will support our transport and logistics operations. For an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced tradespeople while developing your skills across both heavy vehicles and trailers. For a qualified mechanic, there will be the chance to work independently while also contributing to the ongoing development of our preventative maintenance and fleet reliability programs.

Key responsibilities
Servicing and preventative maintenance of heavy vehicles and trailers
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
Trailer repairs including brakes, suspension, air systems, lighting, gates, curtains, and general repairs
Vehicle and trailer inspections and defect repairs
Assisting with breakdowns and urgent repairs when required
Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records
Working with Operations to minimise vehicle and trailer downtime




Maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop

About you

Trade Qualified
Qualified Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanic or equivalent
Experienced in servicing and repairing heavy vehicles
Able to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently

Apprentice
Currently completing a Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Mechanical apprenticeship
Any apprenticeship year will be considered
Keen to develop your skills across trucks and trailers
Reliable, practical, and willing to learn

Experience with trailers, air systems, brakes, welding, or fabrication would be highly regarded but is not essential. An HC or MC licence would also be advantageous but is not essential. We are looking for someone who is reliable and takes pride in their work, has a strong focus on safety, works well as part of a small team, has a practical, solutions-focused attitude, is willing to learn and develop, and understands the importance of keeping equipment safe and operational.
