The Opportunity

ROUSSOS Recruitment is proud to partner with Outside Ideas as the growing South Australian civil contractor expands its estimating capability following the securing of more than $60M in new projects.

Two opportunities are now available for Civil Estimators to join an existing estimating team of five.

Outside Ideas' capabilities span civil earthworks, structural concrete, commercial landscaping, reinforcement and stormwater drainage, delivering projects across civic, commercial, health, education, transport and leisure sectors.

The Role

Reporting to the Estimating Manager and working alongside an experienced team, you will contribute across tenders and pre-construction activities for a diverse pipeline of civil projects.

Key responsibilities include:




Preparing accurate estimates, quantity take-offs and cost plans
Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
Managing subcontractor and supplier pricing
Preparing pre-qualifications, tenders and submissions
Assessing project requirements, risks and opportunities
Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams
Providing input into construction methodologies and material selections
Supporting tender handovers into project delivery

The Like Mind

Outside Ideas is looking for two Civil Estimators with ideally 2–6 years' experience who want to continue developing within a growing contractor.

You will ideally bring:
2–6 years' estimating experience within civil construction
Relevant tertiary qualifications
Experience within the South Australian construction market
Solid quantity take-off and tendering capability
Positive numerical and analytical skills
Clear communication and stakeholder management
A proactive approach and willingness to contribute within a team
