Within the Organisational Development Program in the Enterprise Services Group, People Connect provides operational Human Resource (HR) recruitment, payroll, pay and conditions advice and services across the employee lifecycle for Bureau of Meteorology employees. People Connect operates as a digital service team, using a combination of the bureau’s service management channel as the first point of contact for people-related enquiries and queries, and direct contact. The team supports a geographically dispersed workforce and is focused on delivering timely, accurate and customer-centred HR services.

The successful applicant will be a team lead and senior advisor within the Recruitment Operations team and will work alongside our other People Connect teams including Payroll Operations and general Human Resource Operations and will be responsible for day-to-day team management. This includes workflow and workload management, leave management, performance management, coaching, training and development of team members, and ensuring services are delivered to quality standards and within demanding timeframes.



The position reports directly to the People Connect Recruitment Lead (Executive Level 1) and may be required to assume broader leadership responsibilities when needed.

The role provides strategic and operational advice and support to resolve complex recruitment, HR, payroll, or pay and conditions enquiries, including matters involving senior leaders, employees and people managers. The successful applicant will analyse HR and service data, identify patterns and trends, and use these insights to improve People Connect products, services, systems, intranet content, tools, policies and procedures. They will also contribute to business improvement initiatives, system implementation and review activities, and the ongoing uplift of the bureau’s HR service delivery model.
