Stratara is a growing Melbourne accounting and advisory firm working with clients across construction, property, trades, hospitality, healthcare and other growing businesses.

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Accountant who can manage their own workload, work directly with clients and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.

The role

Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
Preparing BAS, IAS and other compliance obligations
Managing a portfolio of clients and responding to their day-to-day queries
Reviewing bookkeeping, payroll, bank reconciliations and client records
Preparing management reports, budgets and cash-flow forecasts
Providing practical tax and business advice to clients
Assisting construction clients with job costing, work-in-progress reporting and financial forecasting
Liaising with the ATO and other external parties
Supporting and reviewing the work of junior team members
Working closely with the firm’s leadership on client matters and advisory work

About you

We are looking for someone who:




Holds a recognised accounting degree
Is CA or CPA qualified, or close to completing their qualification
Has at least three years of experience in public practice or business services accounting
Has experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across different business structures
Is confident using Xero, MYOB, Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Can manage deadlines and work independently
Communicates confidently and professionally with clients
Has robust attention to detail and takes ownership of their work
