About the Role

Our client, a Melbourne law firm, is making its first permanent Business Analyst hire as it builds out internal capability to support a growing pipeline of change and transformation work. Reporting into the CIO, you'll work alongside the internal PM and trainer to bring structure, rigour and requirements discipline to projects that currently have no one driving the detail.

Vendors have historically provided a pseudo-BA/change function, but this sits outside their remit and isn't a substitute for someone client-side who owns the detail, chases the right people, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.

What You'll Be Doing
Leading requirements gathering and analysis across a live pipeline of projects, including:
Time Capture program - understanding how the system works end-to-end, including how it drives client billing
AI initiatives - exploring and scoping opportunities for the business
Document management system migration - supporting the move to cloud
Leasing function review - mapping current state (what the team does and how) to inform improvement
Owning and driving the change management process,



which currently exists on paper but isn't being consistently applied
Partnering with the BD team on current client onboarding under current tender arrangements - sitting down to capture requirements and identify stakeholders who need to be involved
Acting as the go-to person for process and transformation improvement more broadly
Working closely with the CIO, PM and trainer to build out BA practice and ways of working from the ground up

About You
A confident communicator and natural relationship builder - comfortable engaging across all levels of the business
Resilient and not easily deterred by pushback or resistance
Proactive - willing to chase people for information and follow through
Empathetic in style - particularly key given a business culture where long-tenured partners are used to holding onto tasks and roles, and may need support to delegate
Comfortable being the first BA in the business - able to establish process and demonstrate value without an existing playbook to follow
