Casual Picture Framer / Apprentice

Full Gamut – Hobart

Full Gamut is Hobarts Largest Fine art printing & Framing studio. We are looking for a casual Picture Framer to join our team.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with their hands, has an eye for detail and takes pride in producing beautiful, high-quality work. Experience in picture framing is preferred for the casual position, but we’re also happy to consider an apprentice for someone with a genuine interest in learning the trade.

About the role The role will involve a variety of picture-framing work, including:
Cutting and assembling frames
Mounting and framing artwork, photographs and other objects
Using framing equipment and hand tools
Assisting customers with framing choices
Preparing finished work to a high standard
General workshop duties

About you

You’ll ideally be
Practical, reliable and keen to learn
Detail-oriented with a valuable eye for presentation
Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
Friendly and confident when dealing with customers
Able to work carefully and accurately with your hands




Experienced in picture framing or enthusiastic about learning the trade
No big egos! We work collaboratively and this supportive team environment is very key to us

Previous framing, woodworking, cabinetmaking, carpentry or other hands-on experience would be an advantage, but attitude and willingness to learn are just as significant.

The position

This is a casual position, with hours to suit the needs of the business. approx 15 - 20 hrs per week. There may be opportunities for additional hours for the right person.

Apprentices are encouraged to apply. We’re happy to discuss the possibility of training the right person in the picture-framing trade.
