Lead the design of HV electrical networks — from transformers to substations. NEN Consulting is looking for an Electrical HV Engineer to join our Melbourne CBD Engineering team.

The Opportunity:

You'll take ownership of HV network design — including transformer specification and primary substation design — across major infrastructure and utilities projects, from design through to construction and commissioning. Reporting to our Engineering Manager, you'll manage assigned work packages, support tendering and fee proposals, and work closely with senior engineers, project managers and clients to deliver safe, compliant and reliable outcomes.

What you'll be doing:
Design and review HV electrical networks,



transformers and substation layouts
Prepare engineering designs, calculations and specifications to relevant codes and standards
Manage assigned work packages from design through to commissioning
Support project planning, budgeting and technical risk management
Provide technical input into tenders and fee proposals
Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams

What you'll bring:
5+ years' experience in electrical engineering and project delivery, with demonstrated HV network and transformer design experience
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical); CPEng or eligibility (NER/RPEV) preferred
Solid working knowledge of electrical codes, standards and regulatory frameworks
An analytical, self-motivated problem-solver who thrives in energetic delivery settings
Highly developed communication skills and the ability to work across cross-functional teams
