Customer Service Officer (Multiple Opportunities)

Location: Western Suburbs

Duration: ASAP – November 2026/ January 2027/ February 2027

Hours: 24 or 38 hours per week

Rate: $39.68 per hour + super The Chance

We are looking for experienced Customer Service Officers to join our client, a local council in Melbourne’s western suburbs, across multiple temporary opportunities through to February 2027.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with the community, thrives in a busy customer-focused workplace and is confident handling a high volume of enquiries across both face-to-face and telephone channels.

You will be part of a supportive team, helping residents and customers access the information and services they need while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Provide friendly and professional customer service across Council’s customer service counter and contact centre.
Manage a high volume of inbound enquiries while maintaining service standards and a solid focus on customer satisfaction.
Respond to customer enquiries and resolve complaints where possible,



or identify suitable options and solutions.
Provide accurate information in line with Council policies, procedures and service standards.
Process payments and provide cashiering services as required.
Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure customers receive the right information and support.

Key Criteria
Substantial experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume inbound call or contact centre environment.
Previous customer service experience, ideally within local government.
A broad understanding of local government services and processes.
Previous cashiering or payment processing experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to remain calm, professional and solutions-focused when dealing with challenging customers.
A genuine commitment to providing a positive customer experience.
