Job Description
The ROLE
As a qualified Light Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic based at the Boyer Paper Mill, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and performance of plant, equipment, and fleet assets in a busy industrial workplace.
This opportunity is available on either a full-time or part-time basis.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of vehicles and mobile plant
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults and implementing effective solutions
Completing preventative maintenance and inspections to minimise downtime and ensure operational efficiency
Performing breakdown repairs in a timely and safe manner
Maintaining accurate service records, job sheets, and reporting requirements
Collaborating with site teams and other trades to meet operational targets and deadlines
Ensuring all work is completed in line with WHS requirements and site safety standards
Desired Skills and Experience
About YOU
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong technical capability, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to safe work practices.
You will have:
Trade qualification as a Light Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic,
or similar (Certificate III or equivalent)
Current Driver's Licence, with an HR Licence highly regarded
Forklift Licence or other relevant tickets/licences will be viewed favourably
Demonstrated experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems in a workshop or site-based environment
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systems
The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
