For more information about our agency, please visit: Department of State Development | statedevelopment.sa.gov.au About the role: The People and Culture team supports the delivery of DSD's strategic objectives by enabling a capable, healthy and high performing workforce The HR Coordinator works collaboratively with the People and Culture team and business units across the department to provide confidential, efficient and accurate HR administrative services, guidance and support across a range of human resource functions.
The role The HR Coordinator provides advice and information to business units on routine human resource policies, procedures and processes, ensuring advice is accurate, timely and consistent with departmental requirements.
As a HR Coordinator, you will: Provide confidential, accurate and timely advisory and consultancy services to client account portfolios on generalist human resource matters, including employment conditions, employment contracts, payroll, recruitment and selection, and other HR processes.
Prepare and process non-executive employment contracts and assignment letters, including recommendations for salary increment determinations, and provide timely advice to payroll regarding new or amended employment contracts.
Draft HR-related correspondence, reports and written advice, and coordinate approvals as required.
Verify and process HR forms in accordance with relevant Acts, Awards, HR Delegations, departmental policies and procedures, and take appropriate action where required.
Process payroll documentation in a timely and accurate manner and assist in resolving payroll-related issues.
Monitor People and Culture email inboxes, responding to routine queries, consulting with business units regarding their needs, and triaging complex matters to the appropriate People and Culture team member.
Provide advice on and lead the recruitment and selection process by reviewing requests to advertise and fill vacancies, review role descriptions, drafting and publishing job advertisements, and coordinating recruitment and selection administration.
This includes establishing recruitment folders, providing recruitment and selection advice and guidance to selection panels, and ensuring recruitment processes are undertaken in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Key Competencies: To apply and succeed in the role, you will have: Experience in providing excellent customer service and administration support in a fast-paced environment with tight timeframes, a high level of accuracy, and attention to detail.
Understanding of Human Resource principles, policies and practices, and employment Acts, Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and the Commissioner for Public Sector Employment Determinations and Guidelines.
Ability to interpret HR policy, in particular recruitment and selection,
employment contracts and conditions of employment.
Proven ability to deliver own work requirements, collaborate with and support others, and contribute to team and broader organisation outcomes.

Qualifications: Essential: Nil Desirable: University degree in HR, Law or related discipline Special Conditions: The role will be offered full-time (1.0 FTE) for up to 24 months Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) is required prior to employment.
