Waurn Ponds, Geelong | Hybrid, 2 to 3 days in office Full-time $120,000 + Superannuation If your idea of marketing is handing everything creative to an agency and waiting for the leads to roll in, this probably isn't the role for you.
Our client is an Australian advanced manufacturing and technology business taking some seriously impressive engineering capability to global markets.
They design and manufacture advanced heat exchange technology used across sectors including aerospace, defence, data centres, automotive, motorsport and advanced industry.
They're looking for a Growth Marketing Manager who can think strategically, but who still genuinely enjoys doing the work.
You'll work closely with the Head of Marketing and global commercial teams to build campaigns, generate demand, create content, support sales and help turn highly technical engineering capability into commercial opportunity.
This is a role for someone who likes variety, ownership and seeing a campaign through from idea to execution to results.
What you'll be doing Your remit will be broad and will include: Planning and delivering B2B lead generation campaigns across priority industries and markets Managing paid campaigns across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads and other relevant digital channels Building campaign audiences, messaging, landing pages and conversion journeys Using GA4 and campaign reporting to measure performance and optimise activity Creating digital advertisements, graphics, social content and campaign assets Producing short-form video and visual content using tools such as Canva, Photoshop, InShot or similar Supporting email marketing, social media, website content and events Working with the global sales team to translate target accounts and commercial priorities into marketing campaigns Creating sales enablement materials including pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies and email sequences Working with engineers and technical stakeholders to turn complex information into transparent, commercially relevant stories Using Salesforce, Account Engagement/Pardot and Apollo to support lead capture, nurture, handover and reporting Using AI tools to improve research, campaign planning, content development, creative ideation, reporting and workflow efficiency Testing new tools and approaches while maintaining strong judgement, accuracy and brand quality Managing and briefing external partners across PR, design, animation and specialist creative work Tracking marketing contribution to leads, qualified opportunities and commercial pipeline Continuously testing, learning and improving campaign performance You won't be expected to personally be a graphic designer, filmmaker, engineer, analyst and copywriter all at once.
You will, however, need to be comfortable getting your hands dirty and knowing when something can be created internally versus when specialist support will produce a better result.
The environment This is not a simple B2C marketing environment with short sales cycles and easy-to-explain products.
The customers are sophisticated, the technology is complex and buying decisions are considered.
That means good marketing needs to do more than create attention.
It needs to build credibility, explain technical value clearly, generate meaningful conversations and support a longer commercial journey.
You'll work across teams in Australia, the UK, US and Japan, including sales, engineering, product and executive stakeholders.
There will be plenty happening at once, so you'll need to be comfortable prioritising, making decisions and progressing work without needing perfect conditions.
The role sits within a lean internal marketing team, supported by external specialists across areas including PR, graphic design and 3D animation.
What we're looking for You'll ideally bring: Experience in a hands-on B2B marketing, growth marketing or demand generation role A strong track record of planning and delivering lead generation campaigns Experience managing paid digital campaigns across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads or similar channels Strong understanding of campaign performance, conversion and optimisation Confidence using GA4 and marketing analytics Experience creating landing pages, campaign journeys and digital content Practical creative capability using Canva, Photoshop, InShot or similar tools Experience supporting sales teams with presentations, content, email sequences and other enablement materials Familiarity with CRM and marketing automation platforms Strong written communication and content capability The ability to understand complex or technical information and make it commercially relevant Strong organisation and stakeholder management skills The confidence to manage multiple priorities and take ownership of delivery A genuinely hands-on approach Full Australian working rights Experience using Salesforce, Account Engagement/Pardot and Apollo would be highly regarded.
Experience within engineering, advanced manufacturing, aerospace, defence, automotive, SaaS or another technical B2B environment would also be advantageous.
What matters most is that you understand complex B2B marketing and can show what you have personally built, delivered, improved or contributed to.
A practical understanding of AI matters They're not looking for someone who has simply opened ChatGPT a few times.
They want someone who is already thinking about how AI can make marketing better.
That could include:
Audience and market research Campaign planning Content development Creative ideation Workflow improvement Reporting and analysis Testing messaging or campaign concepts Improving the speed and quality of repetitive marketing tasks You don't need to be an AI expert.
You do need to be curious, willing to experiment and able to explain where AI genuinely helps and where human judgement still matters.
How success will be measured This role isn't about filling a marketing calendar for the sake of looking busy.
Success will be measured through things such as: New leads generated across priority markets Qualified opportunities created or influenced by marketing Marketing contribution to commercial pipeline Campaign conversion and engagement Performance of paid digital channels Quality and adoption of sales enablement materials Effectiveness of lead capture, nurture and handover Strong collaboration across marketing, sales, engineering and product Evidence that campaigns are improving through testing and learning Why this role is worth considering You'll get exposure to a genuinely interesting product and a much broader remit than you would in a highly specialised marketing role.
You'll be close to the commercial strategy, work with global teams and have the opportunity to influence how the business takes complex Australian engineering capability to the world.
There is plenty of hands-on execution, but also room to develop further across growth strategy, demand generation, sales enablement, marketing technology and global B2B marketing.
The role is full-time and based in Waurn Ponds, Geelong, with a hybrid model of approximately 2 to 3 days per week in the office.
Because the commercial team operates internationally, there will occasionally be meetings outside standard Australian business hours.
This won't be constant, but some flexibility will be required when working with colleagues across the UK, US and Japan.
The business also offers: Paid parental leave Bonus scheme Paid study leave and support where relevant Structured career planning and development conversations Performance and salary reviews Development support and on-the-job training Regular team and social activities Free onsite parking Salary packaging options Professional affiliation with Deakin University If you're a hands-on B2B marketer who enjoys building campaigns, understanding the numbers and making complex things easier to understand, this could be a very positive next move.
When you apply, we'd love to understand a little more than what sits on your CV.
Please include a short note explaining why the opportunity caught your attention, along with: An example of a B2B campaign you have personally helped create or deliver, what you did and what happened as a result A brief example of how you are currently using AI in your marketing work A piece of content, creative work or campaign activity you are particularly proud of Nothing enormous or painfully polished required.
We simply want to understand how you think, what you've created and the contribution you made.
