From 1 September ****, the prescriber accreditation requirement for hepatitis B medicines under the PBS Section 100 (s100) Highly Specialised Drugs Program will be removed.
As a result, all medical and authorised nurse practitioners will be able to prescribe hepatitis B antiviral treatment without additional specialist accreditation.

Justice Health – Population Health Nurse
Justice Health is hiring a Population Health Nurse (RN2-8/CNS2).
The Population Health Nurse offers sexual health, bloodborne virus and hepatology services for patients within NSW Correctional Centres.
In this role, you will be part of the Population Health team, integral Population Health services and activities and will be recognised as a healthcare professional employing your clinical skills and critical thinking in delivering high-quality patient care.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Current NSW Drivers Licence.
Authorised Nurse Immuniser or willingness to undertake training within one year of employment.
All staff are required to complete and submit a Pre-employment Health Declaration Form.
Dependent on position applied for you will need to complete/provide a Working with Children Check (WWCC), National Police Check (NPC) and/or Aged Care Check.
Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
SELECTION CRITERIA
Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and a current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills,



interpersonal skills and be able to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others and current computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
Authorised Nurse Immuniser or willingness to complete qualifications within one year of employment.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary team, including the ability to deal confidently and professionally with people at all levels and apply skilled and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.
Demonstrated knowledge and clinical experience in the assessment and management of patients with acute, chronic and/or complex needs including bloodborne viruses, sexually transmissible infections and advanced liver disease.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the health and social welfare issues affecting vulnerable communities and demonstrated ability to practice with compassion and advocate for and implement person-centred practice.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of the Justice Health NSW and demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

The role and responsibilities are to be carried out in a manner consistent with delegations, policies, procedures and operations systems of Justice Health NSW,



and in line with both the NSW Health Code of Conduct and Justice Health NSW Code of Conduct.
