Target Business Services Position: Full Time - Permanent Location: 6/14 Mason Street Cannington WA **** Salary: $105,000 Plus 12% Superannuation Our client, Red Steel Works Pty Ltd. is a prominent Perth based company that specializes in providing reliable and high-quality steel fixing, formwork, precast labor, and scaffolding services for a diverse range of civil, industrial, commercial, and residential projects across Perth and Western Australia.
The client is currently recruiting experienced Senior Formwork Carpenter with a solid background working on residential/ commercial projects to work at the multiple sites.
As a highly motivated and qualified Formwork Carpenter you will require strong technical knowledge of the building and construction industry combined with a high level of attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements:
AQF Certificate III in relevant trade including 2 years on job training or AQF Certificate IV. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
The position requires at least one year of full -time experience and the ability to work independently to specifications and plans.
What you will be responsible for:
Execute quality formwork carpentry workmanship to the highest level, whilst maintaining our company standards and safety
Read plans and specifications to determine the dimensions, materials required and installation processes to be followed
Select appropriate materials for formwork construction, considering factors such as load-bearing capacity, durability, and reusability
Create formwork that matches the desired shape and dimensions of concrete structures
Interpret plans/engineering and project specifications to meet exacting standards
Construct and repair structural woodwork and equipment from blueprints and oral instructions
Install formwork on-site, pouring concrete into the formwork, and then removing the formwork after the concrete has cured
Maintain tools and machinery in protected and efficient operating condition
Prepare drawings and sketches of construction and repair projects
Estimate costs and orders materials needed.
Cut materials, and assemble and nail cut and shaped parts
Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, safety standards, and regulations
Liaise with clients, other trades in a professional manner
Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to maintain a protected working environment
Skills, experience and attributes:
Able to read and work from plans
Proficiency in carpentry techniques such as cutting, shaping, and joining wood or other materials to construct formwork accurately
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Must have vast experience in civil formwork, carpentry and be skilled in the use of hand and power tools
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems that may arise during formwork construction
Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to OH&S; principles
Able to work unsupervised
The Successful Applicant You would be required to work in a team environment and would be expected to take on a variety of tasks. You would be required to work at times under pressure and timelines and be available to work in different areas if and when the need arises. The applicant must have an OHS white card and previous experience, preferably in the construction industry.
