About the role
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is seeking an experienced people leader to join our Dandenong office. As an Administrative Service Manager (ASM), you'll provide leadership and operational support to a team of 19 legal assistants, working alongside another co-ASM.

In this role, you will:

- lead and support staff performance, recruitment and training ensuring the team can deliver high-quality services
- coordinate workforce scheduling and day-to-day office operations, including managing the office budget and facilities
- represent VLA externally through seminars, meetings and engagement with key stakeholders
- build and maintain solid stakeholder relationships to support VLA's organisational goals, service delivery and community initiatives.

This is an opportunity to play an important leadership role within the Dandenong office, supporting your team, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and ensuring the effective delivery of VLA's services to the community.

This role is based at our Dandenong office on Bunurong Country.

About Dandenong office
The Dandenong team is the largest regional VLA office providing legal services across criminal law, family violence, child protection, youth crime, family and civil law. A large team of Independent Mental Health Advocates and an Independent Family Advocate are based in the region. Legal services are provided across two Magistrates' Courts (Dandenong and Moorabbin), the Specialist Children's Court (Dandenong), the Drug Court, the Mental Health Tribunal, the AAT, VCAT and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. The City of Greater Dandenong local government area is the most culturally diverse community in Australia,



with residents from over 150 birth places and over 60% of its population born overseas.

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

- Leadership skills and experience in managing and developing staff.
- Experience in coordinating administrative functions, specifically office procedures and practices
- Highly proficient IT skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills with the capacity to manage changing environments and ability to prioritise your workload to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, and stakeholders at all levels.
