The Opportunity!

We are seeking an Accountant to join our Australian team on a fixed-term maternity leave cover. your role will involve financial administration as well as preparing monthly financial reports, BAS preparation and lodgment, budget preparation, auditing financial information and reconciling accounts with the general ledger. This role will be working alongside our current Accountant and Finance Manager.

This role will also be responsible for analyzing financial data and procedures and recommending corrective actions and improvements.

This is a fixed-term maternity leave cover role for 12 months, available on a full time basis, with the potential for extension depending on business needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

General Accounting:

- Reconciliation of bank statements to General Ledger

- Processing accounts and outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

- Preparing bills for payment





- Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients

- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted

Financial reporting

- BAS preparation and reporting

- Preparation of Monthly HQ financial reporting (Cash flow, profitability etc)

Support Finance Manager

- Assist with ad hoc Finance Projects

- Assist with auditing preparation (internal and external)

- Work with Finance Manager to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

What you will bring:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting

- CA or CPA certified (desirable but not mandatory)

- A minimum of 1-2 years in similar role (Retail Industry – highly desirable)

- Experience in audits and international accounting

- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy

- Experience using SAP or other ERP system
