Known for delivering premium residential communities, the portfolio spans a diverse mix of greenfield developments, retail, commercial assets, medium-density housing, and boutique apartment projects. The in-house legal team is committed to providing high-quality, trusted advice, underpinned by integrity, reliability, flexibility, accessibility, and solid commercial acumen.

Our client is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its highly collaborative in-house legal team.

About the Role

Working closely with the General Counsel and the Development Director, you will be involved in the provision of legal advice in relation to legal and risk related matters. It will be varied and you will:

- Prepare, negotiate, and manage leasing transactions, including drafting and advising on Agreements for Lease, leases, Heads of Agreement, variations, renewals, and licences, with property sales contracts as required;
- Manage the leasing documentation process across the portfolio, ensuring deals are progressed efficiently and to a consistently high standard;
- Support development activity through related agreements,



including construction and consultancy contract
- Advise the sales and leasing teams and the broader business on general commercial law matters, including IP and reviewing marketing material for ACL compliance;
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, external solicitors, tenants, and consultants to deliver commercially sound, practical legal advice; and
- Play a key role in ensuring a consistent, pragmatic, and commercially focused approach to leasing transactions.

About You

You will hold a current Practising Certificate and have 2-5 years’ post-qualification experience in a property team within a law firm, or in an in-house property or leasing environment. Experience in contract and commercial law is desirable, but not a prerequisite.

You are a highly driven individual who is resourceful and has a collaborative, team-oriented approach. You have a ‘can-do’ attitude and the highest level of personal integrity. You exercise sound judgement and discretion, and bring a proactive, positive approach to deliver high-quality work.
