Parafield Airport Limited (PAL) is South Australia's premier general aviation airport and a wholly owned subsidiary of Adelaide Airport Limited. Located approximately 18 kilometres north of the Adelaide CBD, Parafield Airport has been at the heart of South Australia's aviation industry for almost a century and continues to play a critical role in pilot training, aviation services and general aviation operations.

The Parafield Airport team is responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the airport, maintaining airfield and landside infrastructure, supporting customers and tenants, and ensuring the airport continues to operate safely, efficiently and in accordance with regulatory requirements. The team works across a diverse range of operational, maintenance, compliance and emergency management activities that are essential to the ongoing success of the airport.

The Role

Parafield Airport is looking for an Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day field and operational activities of the airport. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising airport operations, coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring operational and regulatory requirements are met.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager Parafield, you will provide first-line leadership to the Parafield Operations Officers and manage their daily activities and task schedules. You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, customers and tenants to coordinate operational and maintenance requirements across the airport.

Key Responsibilities

- Leading, supporting and scheduling the daily activities of Parafield Operations Officers

- Coordinating and supervising contractors undertaking work onsite

- Monitoring airfield serviceability and escalating operational or major maintenance issues

- Managing operational budgets, purchase orders and procurement activities





- Preparing capital expenditure applications for operational requirements, including the replacement of plant and equipment

- Coordinating maintenance activities with customers, tenants and internal stakeholders

- Processing crane applications and managing ad hoc airspace matters

- Supporting the timely remediation of identified non-compliances

- Responding to unscheduled and reactive maintenance requirements

- Performing Aerodrome Reporting Officer duties when required

- Contributing to the airport’s emergency response activities

- Supporting the maintenance of airport facilities in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements and approved budget

About You

You will be a capable and approachable leader who is comfortable balancing people leadership, operational priorities and hands-on maintenance requirements. You will bring sound judgement, robust organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience working across a range of functions in a regulated environment

- Experience in emergency, security and safety disciplines

- Hands-on experience with maintenance activities

- Previous experience supervising employees and contractors





- The ability to prepare technical reports and operating procedures

- Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills

- A practical, customer-focused approach

- The physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and in varying weather conditions

Experience within the aviation industry and working with a diverse range of stakeholders will be highly regarded.

The role requires relevant first-line management skills to Diploma level, a current state driver’s licence, authority to drive airside and a Radio Operations Certificate of Proficiency. Emergency management and safety or security training and qualifications are also required, along with a firearms licence.

Additional qualifications such as an SA Security Officer Licence Certificate III, completion of an Aerodrome Safety Inspectors Course, advanced management training or a truck licence would be advantageous.

The successful candidate must also be able to:

- Work irregular hours or undertake night work when required

- Meet airport driving requirements

- Obtain and maintain an aviation security clearance

- Meet the physical requirements of the position
