About FarmTech Group
FarmTech Group is a proudly Australian, family-owned business with 50 years of history in the agricultural equipment industry. Based in Wodonga on the NSW/Victorian border, we design, manufacture and distribute premium agricultural machinery to producers across Australia and internationally.
Our Ausmix brand is an Australian market leader in feed mixer wagons, purpose-built for serious beef and dairy producers — and every one of them starts on our workshop floor.
We're growing our production team and are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator who takes pride in precision workmanship and quality builds.
About the Role
As a Welder / Fabricator, you’ll work from our Wodonga workshop building the Ausmix Feed Mixers and agricultural equipment that carry our name into paddocks across Australia.
You’ll be hands-on with fabrication and welding, working from technical drawings and work packs to produce components and assemblies to a high standard, playing a key part in building each machine from the ground up.
This is a workshop-based role with regular hours and opportunity for overtime, working alongside a close-knit production team that takes pride in the quality of what we build.
What You'll Do
- Fabrication & Welding: Fabricate and weld components and assemblies for our Ausmix Feed Mixers and agricultural machinery.
- Work from Technical Drawings: Read and interpret technical drawings, work packs and specifications to fabricate parts and assemblies accurately.
- Quality Workmanship: Take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work that meets our build and quality standards.
- Problem Solving: Identify and work through fabrication and fit-up issues as they arise during the build.
- Work as Part of the Build Team: Work closely with the wider production team to keep machines progressing efficiently through the workshop.
- Work Safely:
Follow workshop safety procedures and contribute to a safe, well-organised working setting.
What You'll Bring
- Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade, or equivalent trade qualification or relevant industry experience.
- Fabrication Skills: Strong hands-on fabrication skills, including measuring, cutting, fitting and assembling components accurately from drawings and work packs.
- Welding Expertise: Proven MIG and ARC welding experience, with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
- Technical Drawing Skills: Confidence reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and work packs.
- Quality Workmanship: A keen eye for detail and pride in producing accurate, quality work.
- Problem-Solving Ability: A practical, solutions-focused approach to fabrication and fit-up challenges.
- Team Player: A reliable, can-do attitude and the ability to work well as part of a production team.
