About the role

Remote Water Treatment Services is seeking a skilled Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator to join our team Australia wide. Offering flexibility whilst ensuring the reliable operation of water and wastewater treatment systems. As a Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems Operator, you will play a critical role in maintaining water quality standards and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. This position is essential to our operations, directly contributing to the provision of safe, clean water to our communities and the protection of our natural environment.

Key responsibilities

- Operate and monitor water and wastewater treatment equipment and control systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency

- Conduct regular testing and analysis of water samples to verify compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements

- Maintain detailed records of treatment processes, chemical usage, test results and equipment maintenance activities

- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on treatment systems, pumps, valves and associated equipment

- Respond promptly to equipment alarms and operational issues, troubleshooting problems and implementing corrective actions

- Clean and maintain treatment tanks, filters and other system components to prevent contamination and ensure proper functionality

- Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations, including proper handling and disposal of chemicals

- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status, issues and maintenance requirements

What we're looking for





- Relevant qualification or certification in water and wastewater treatment operations (such as a Level 1, 2 or 3 Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator Certificate or equivalent)

- Proven experience operating water and wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment

- Strong knowledge of water quality testing procedures and laboratory analysis techniques

- Competency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, control panels and monitoring systems

- Sound understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance requirements in the water treatment industry

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining attention to detail in a potentially hazardous environment

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document procedures and observations accurately

- Physical capability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, climbing and working in various weather conditions

- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel between treatment facilities as required

- Current First Aid certification is preferred
