Position Overview

The Casual Youth Worker will primarily support the Protected Haven Community Patrol program, focusing on the safety and wellbeing of young people in the Cherbourg community. The role involves building positive relationships and providing practical support while being responsive to community needs.

Additionally,



the Youth Worker will assist with youth activities during school holidays, promoting engagement and participation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting youth and a deep understanding of cultural sensitivities. Key attributes include:

- Relevant qualifications in Youth Work or Community Services or industry experience is an advantage
- Experience engaging with young people, particularly within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Ability to develop and deliver culturally appropriate programs and activities.
- Strong time management skills and IT competency to maintain accurate records.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to maintaining professional boundaries and respecting confidentiality while actively contributing to a supportive team environment.

Salary & Benefits

The position is casual, with a salary of $45.28 per hour, in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 level 2.1. Benefits also include salary packaging options and the opportunity for professional development.
