Located approximately 45km north of Goondiwindi (between Goondiwindi and Moonie), this established dryland cropping enterprise operates across productive farming country known for wheat, chickpeas and other broadacre crops. Unlike the flat plains often associated with the region, this property features more undulating terrain, offering variety and requiring operators who can confidently work across changing country.
Reporting directly to the property management team, this role will suit an experienced and dependable Header Operator who takes pride in their work, understands harvest operations, and is committed to seeing the season through. Harvest is expected to commence from mid-October, subject to seasonal and weather conditions.
This seasonal opportunity would suit an experienced operator looking to join a professional harvest team for the peak harvest period.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Operate Case IH headers equipped with Greenstar GPS during wheat and chickpea harvest.
- Monitor machine performance and carry out minor troubleshooting and basic repairs when required.
- Work safely and efficiently as part of the harvest team while maintaining harvest quality standards.
Selection Criteria:
- Proven broadacre harvest experience operating headers, ideally in wheat and chickpea programs.
- Competent using GPS guidance systems and mechanically minded around agricultural machinery.
- Reliable, safety-conscious, well presented, and committed to completing the harvest season.
Additional Particulars:
- Single accommodation available or BYO caravan setup; lunch and dinner provided.
- Full-time seasonal harvest position for approximately 4-6 weeks commencing mid-October.
- Remuneration negotiated based on experience; preference given to non-smokers. No dogs permitted.
