About Frontier
Frontier is a new team within Digital, created to explore a fundamentally different approach to product development.

We're building new greenfield digital experiences across web, iOS and Android while developing an AI-powered delivery model that changes how software is designed, built and operated. Rather than using AI as a coding assistant, we're rethinking the entire development lifecycle, combining human judgement with agentic systems to deliver high-quality customer experiences faster and more effectively.

Our mission is to build the next generation of digital experiences while proving a new model for software delivery, where engineers spend less time on repetitive implementation and more time on architecture, design decisions, quality and engineering judgement.

We're looking for engineers who are excited by both up-to-date software engineering and the future of AI-powered product development.

The Role
Help define how software gets built, not just what gets built.



You'll provide technical direction across Frontier, shaping architecture, engineering standards, security practices and the AI-powered systems that support our recent development model. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and influencing how entire teams work.

What you'll do

- Set technical direction across web, mobile and backend platforms
- Define architecture, engineering standards and quality practices
- Lead security, privacy and compliance by design
- Build and evolve our AI-enabled software delivery model
- Mentor senior engineers and raise engineering capability
- Champion observability, reliability and operational excellence
- Drive automation, verification and engineering guardrails
- Partner with Product and Design to shape future experiences

What you'll bring

- Experience leading architecture and engineering standards across complex digital products
- Deep expertise across web, mobile or backend engineering, with working knowledge across the full stack
- Experience establishing engineering practices, quality standards and secure design principles
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in production environments
- Strong judgement, curiosity and a passion for mentoring others
- Comfortable working in ambiguity, learning quickly and helping shape a brand-new way of building software
