The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and proactive HSEQ Coordinator to join our team based in Erskine Park, NSW. Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality systems across the business.
You will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture, supporting compliance with WHS legislation and company management systems, conducting site inspections and audits, and partnering with operational teams to ensure safe and efficient outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused qualified looking to further develop their career within a growing and diverse civil, earthmoving and materials business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of HSEQ policies, procedures and management systems
- Conduct site inspections, audits and workplace observations across multiple operational sites
- Support risk management activities including hazard identification, risk assessments and SWMS development
- Assist with incident investigations and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence
- Coordinate and deliver HSEQ training, inductions and awareness initiatives
- Monitor compliance with relevant WHS and environmental legislation, regulations and company requirements
- Maintain HSEQ registers, records, reports and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Support emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response planning and exercises
- Engage with workers, contractors and management to promote a positive safety culture
- Assist with internal and external audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide practical HSEQ advice and support to operational teams and supervisors
What We're Looking For
- Available to start immediately
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or higher qualification
- 2 years previous experience in a HSEQ or Safety Coordinator role
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and risk management principles
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits and incident investigations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple sites
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems
- Experience within civil construction, quarrying, transport or heavy industry environments (desirable)
- Current Driver Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
