What does a week at Sprout actually look like?

We think you should know what you're signing up for before you apply.

Great therapy needs more than a full diary.

At Sprout, we've deliberately built a working week that gives clinicians time to think, plan, collaborate and keep developing. Those things are part of doing excellent clinical work.

For a full-time clinician, our standard expectation is approximately 23 billable hours per week. The remainder of your working week is there for the other things that matter: planning, documentation, collaboration, supervision, career development and being part of the team.

Your week might include:

Around 23 billable hours A combination of individual therapy, assessments, group therapy and other billable clinical work. We want you to have the time and headspace to deliver thoughtful, effective therapy and not simply move from appointment to appointment.

Protected time for planning and documentation Friday afternoons are dedicated, protected time for planning and documentation, so you can actually enjoy your weekend, without dreading a to-do list on Monday mornings.

Regular 1:1 supervision Protected time to talk through your caseload, clinical reasoning, professional goals, tricky cases and the areas you'd like to develop.

Clinical learning & case discussions Regular opportunities to review evidence, discuss cases, share resources and learn alongside the clinicians around you.

Meaningful collaboration Time to communicate with parents, teachers, educators and other professionals when it supports a child's goals and helps therapy translate into everyday life.

Actual time with your team We're intentionally a close-knit workplace. Our shared team space means there's usually someone around to bounce an idea off, ask a quick clinical question or have a chat between sessions.

And because we work with children, there will inevitably be games, craft supplies, laminating, questionable drawings and conversations about things you never expected to know quite so much about.

We take our work seriously. We don't take ourselves too seriously.

We're proud of the quality of care we provide, but we don't want Sprout to feel corporate.

We work with kids. Therapy should be engaging, and work should have some fun in it too.

We want clinicians who bring their personality to their sessions, celebrate the little wins, share ideas and genuinely want to be part of the workplace around them.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the room or fit a particular personality type. You do need to be kind, reliable, motivated, open to feedback and invested in doing great work.

We care about outcomes, not just appointments.

At Sprout, a busy diary isn't our definition of successful therapy.

We care about meaningful goals, evidence-based intervention and being able to demonstrate that what we're doing is actually helping the children and families we work with.

We want clinicians who keep asking:

Is this working?

What does the evidence tell us?

Do I need to change direction?

Evidence-based practice at Sprout isn't just something we put in a job ad. We want our clinicians to understand why they're choosing an approach, monitor whether it's working and be willing to change course when the evidence tells them to.

Our work spans areas including speech sound disorders, language and communication, literacy and structured literacy approaches, fluency and social communication. We value measurable goals, progress monitoring, thoughtful clinical reasoning and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

And you won't be expected to figure everything out alone. Clinical conversations, supervision and learning from one another are part of how we work.

Starting as a new graduate?

You won't arrive on Monday and be handed a full caseload on Tuesday.

Your first weeks at Sprout include a structured induction and gradual caseload build, giving you time to become familiar with our systems, resources, clinical processes and team.

You'll have opportunities to observe other clinicians, ask plenty of questions and receive regular supervision while your caseload builds.

We'll support you to develop your skills across:

- assessment and clinical reasoning;

- evidence-based intervention;

- goal setting and measuring progress;

- clinical documentation and report writing;

- communicating confidently with children and families;

- working collaboratively with schools, kinders and other professionals; and

- managing a paediatric caseload sustainably.

We don't expect you to arrive knowing everything.

We do expect you to be curious, ask questions, seek feedback and genuinely want to become an excellent clinician.

You might be a outstanding fit at Sprout if you...

- genuinely enjoy working with children and families;

- care about outcomes rather than simply completing sessions;

- are curious and interested in evidence and clinical reasoning;

- want to keep developing your skills;

- enjoy sharing ideas and learning alongside other clinicians;

- are organised, reliable and willing to take ownership of your work;

- are comfortable asking questions and receiving feedback; and

- bring some personality, creativity and fun to what you do.

We're looking for someone who wants to contribute to the team, not simply arrive, see their clients and go home.

Why work at Sprout?

We want Sprout to be somewhere excellent clinicians can do excellent work without burning themselves out to do it. Depending on your role, your week also includes:

- structured support and induction for new graduates and early-career clinicians;

- ongoing clinical learning and case discussions;

- a varied paediatric caseload;

- opportunities to develop your clinical interests;

- access to clinical resources and therapy materials;

- administrative support so clinicians can focus on clinical work; and

- a genuinely close-knit team who know, support and learn from one another.
