The Role

Our Victorian maintenance team is seeking a passionate and dedicated Horticultural Maintenance Specialist. This role focuses on the ongoing horticultural care of Fytogreen’s elevated and engineered green infrastructure, including:

- Vertical gardens

- Roof gardens (extensive and intensive)

- Green facades

- Planter box systems

You will work across Melbourne CBD and surrounding metropolitan areas, maintaining high-profile projects and ensuring installations continue to thrive in often challenging environments.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team, is comfortable working at heights, is physically fit, and takes pride in delivering exceptional horticultural outcomes.

Location & Travel Requirements

- Full-time, Monday to Friday

- Work is primarily site-based across Melbourne CBD and the surrounding suburbs.

- Attendance at our Somerville head office is required once per week

Key Responsibilities

- Horticultural maintenance of green walls, roof gardens and elevated landscapes

- Plant health monitoring, pruning and replacement planting

- Identification and management of pests and diseases

- Formative and selective pruning to maintain design intent





- Irrigation system checks and basic troubleshooting

- Completion of site reports and maintenance documentation

- Working safely at heights using access equipment and systems

- Representing Fytogreen professionally on client sites

Skills & Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Solid plant and horticultural knowledge, with practical pruning skills

- Experience in Horticultural, landscape or specialist garden maintenance

- Working knowledge of plant pests and diseases

- A good level of physical fitness

- Confident and comfortable working at heights

- Strong organisational and time‑management skills

- Competent computer skills and the ability to complete basic administrative tasks

- A proactive, self‑motivated approach with a strong work ethic

- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Highly regarded (but not essential):

- Formal horticultural qualification

- Experience in maintaining roof or vertical gardens

- Working at Heights, EWP and White Card

- A current driver’s licence is essential.

NOTE: This role includes an element of working at heights. Full on‑the‑job training will be provided, including product training and any required licences.
