Role Summary
As Quality Manager, you will be based on site and provide support to the GE Onshore wind project team. You will manage and drive the site QA systems, coordinate and execute all QA duties relating to WTG construction in close cooperation with site manager, receiving lead, installation team and commissioning team.
You will perform Quality Inspections, witness testing and ensure adherence to the Installation manuals and critical to quality framework working with installation subcontractor and Installation/Commissioning teams. You will ensure the required quality standards are consistently maintained; conduct quality assurance audits; monitor and record results from the processes and procedures.
In this role, you will have a high impact on customer satisfaction and allow us to deliver on time with excellent quality to our customers.
The role is site based: Uungula Wind Farm located near Wellington NSW
3:1 roster working Monday to Saturday
Initially a 12 month contract with view to extend
You can be a local or DIDO or FIFO to Dubbo anywhere on the Eastern Seaboard
Flights/accommodation/site vehicle/ $75 daily per diem
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality inspection of components and verification of Quality process adherence at Receiving, Installation and Commissioning phase from Site mobilization to WTG customer handover.
- Identify deviations based on specification and drawings; issue NCR and follow till closure
- Input to construction inspection checklists related to Quality Control aspects
- Verify that acceptable subcontractor quality records are available for all relevant inspection activities.
- Compile job site book and assist site team with project completion documentation.
- Maintain and keep all quality records in designated filing systems
- Actively manage the quality in the Windfarm construction site by inspections, audits and manage Punchlist items.
- Manage JSB submission comments with Client, Subcontractor and site leads.
- Manage the Punch list completions work with Client and internal GE site team.
- Assist Site Manager and Project Manager with section completion and R5 Handover process for final submissions with Client and services team.
- Conduct internal audit as per audit plan and ensure that actions are closed
- Ensure that process is under control, initiate potential process improvements and work in cooperation with Site Manager and Regional Quality to implement potential improvements.
- Ensure all quality relevant project documentation are properly tracked and stored.
- Assist the RCA team with site inputs to gather information relevant to the investigation.
- Abide by company EHS and Quality process/policies.
About You
- Relevant trade or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical
- Electrically qualified & Licensed (A grade electrician) preferably with experience in HV installations (Preferred) or Mechanical trade Certificate
- Significant experience within a QA environment in a windfarm company or similar regulated environment
- Prior Windfarm construction experience preferred
- Experience in Windfarm or renewable energy projects highly regarded
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualifications
- Demonstrated experience within large-scale site-based construction environments.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and ISO 9001 QMS standards
- Experience conducting audits, inspections, and compliance reporting
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop site personnel
- Robust stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Mandatory white card and valid drivers licence
