About the role
We are seeking a Retail Store Manager to lead our Moruya Ag, Horse & Pet store. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving store performance, leading and developing a local team, delivering exceptional customer service and building strong relationships within the local farming, equine, pet and rural lifestyle community. As Store Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of store operations including people leadership, sales growth, inventory management, merchandising, customer experience and safety, while ensuring the store remains a trusted destination for local customers.
This chance would suit an experienced retail manager who enjoys working in a community-focused environment and has a passion for rural, agricultural, equine or pet retail.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and the local rural community.
- Drive sales growth through effective merchandising, promotional activities and customer engagement initiatives.
- Provide expert advice on agricultural products, rural supplies and farming solutions to meet customer needs.
- Maintain high standards of store presentation, pricing accuracy and promotional compliance in line with AIRR/Elders brand standards.
- Oversee inventory management, stock control and stocktake activities to ensure product availability.
- Plan and manage stock levels around seasonal agricultural cycles, customer demand and local market conditions.
- Ensure the safe handling, storage and dispatch of agricultural products,
bulk goods and equipment in accordance with safety and compliance requirements.
- Monitor store performance, support business development opportunities and maintain compliance with operational, financial and WHS procedures.
About you
- Proven experience in retail or agricultural store management.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop and support team members.
- Excellent customer service, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Sound financial, commercial and operational management capabilities.
- Knowledge of rural and agricultural products, services and customer needs.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and point-of-sale technology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Current unrestricted driver's licence and forklift licence.
